WHAT INSPIRES YOU? WHAT KEEPS YOU ACCOUNTABLE?

I am incredibly up and excited this week! You see, two weeks ago I was motivated to join Carrie Wilkerson's, you know The Barefoot Executive, Barefoot Mastermind group. And I think I mentioned in last weeks e-zine how incredibly inspirational and motivating it has been.

Well, I amped the push factor, by also signing on for some individual, laser coaching with The Barefoot Exec herself, and a group of us Barefoot Masterminders also joined Donna Kozik's Write Your Book in a Weekend workshop - which is currently underway - and Donna is so incredibly cool, and her workshop is so well organized and put together, it's just absolutely amazing.

I'm not telling you this for bragging rights, I do actually have a point here.

I mean do I really have the time to take on two more time commitments? I mean come on, like the rest of you I already have a full-coaching practice, a house, a husband, 2 kids, and a grandson to attend to. I have to homeschool, work, clean the house, do the laundry, fetch the groceries, cook said groceries, and get up in the morning and start it all over again. So, NO, I don't have time to add two more things to my already overwhelmed calendar. And yet I did exactly that. Why?

Well, because I understand the importance of inspiration and accountability. In order to be motivated to move forward in life it is incredibly important that we surround ourselves with those things that inspire us to dream, to set goals, to think big and most importantly to take big action.

There are many externals that can be used for inspiration. Beautiful art, music, movies, but the one that propels me forward quicker than anything is surrounding myself with people who inspire me to want to be my best, set goals and not walk, but rather run towards them.

These same people also provide a certain degree of accountability for me. Carrie, especially, tells us 'Don't tell me you're going to do something and then not expect me to check-in with you to see if you followed through and did it.' And our program with Donna provides accountability throughout our writing weekend, by setting specific check-in times via scheduled calls and laser coaching. Hey, with that kind of accountability, how can you fail?

So, now I ask you to stop for a moment and allow yourself to get a picture of something you want to accomplish - a dream, a goal -don't limit yourself, dream big!

Now take it one step further and ask yourself what, or who, you will use for motivation, inspiration, and accountability? Is there someone you already know that you look to for guidance and inspiration? Is there someone you could ask to mentor you? Do you know someone who is teaching a class that will help you move forward? Do you have access to a coach for inspiration and accountability? I've used several coaches over the past decade - to increase knowledge, to provide guidance, and to keep me accountable to what I say I want to do. Or maybe you just have a close friend or family member who is good at that.

It doesn't matter who. What matters is that they lift you up, keep you on track, and that you use them for that so that you can set those goals, follow through on taking action towards them, and achieve all that you dream of. Now go find that mentor, that inspiration, and put it to good use! I want to hear about what you are doing!
