"Regain Your Confidence, Reclaim Your Life">
Increase Your Vision
March 29, 2010
Wow, what a push! I shared before that this past week I made the decision to participate in Donna Kozik's Write a Book in a Weekend class with our Barefoot Mastermind group.
Okay, first I have to admit that it took me a weekend and a day. It happened to be a weekend when we had guests for every meal, so I was stopping to prepare food for 6 or 7 people at each meal. Now that, in and of itself, doesn't sound like that big a deal, but we have 3 guys who are big eaters, my 10 year old grandson who is an Aspie, and therefore doesn't eat certain foods because the texture will send him over the edge, and a lacto-ovo vegetarian daughter, who will only eggs if she can't tell they are eggs, LOL! Needless to say the creativity for coming up with meal plans alone is exhausting. But I love them and want to be sure they are well taken care of, so it comes with the territory.
So it took me an extra day to complete my book. It will be a "short-but powerful" 6 x 9 inch book with a months worth of action quotes for building self-esteem in women. I am hoping to have all editing done so that it can be sent to the publishers before the month is done.
I'm excited to have my first book complete, and was already half way through another book when I started with this one. So I'm thinking wow, I can be a published author, twice over, by summer time. Pretty cool, if I do say so myself.
But what really got me about writing a book in a weekend, besides the incredible support from Ms. Kozik and the Barefoot Mastermind crew, was how pushing yourself to do something that is seemingly "impossible' really increases your vision for what you are capable of.
I encourage you all to set a goal, a wonderfully scary 'I don't know if I can do this' goal, and then push yourself to achieve it. You won't be sorry. I guarentee it!
Now, my Super Author status must be put on hold a bit, while I step away from the computer to put in a load of laundry, get in a quick workout, and prepare yet another meal for my ever-growing, always hungry posse!
Make it a beautiful day, Ladies!
Belief & Blessings, Viki
